Rustic Chic Wedding

Any wedding that starts out with balloon save the dates is the kind of wedding I want to be a part of! The bride, Pam, created the save the dates and now I can’t wait to do this for one of my clients. I love that you have to blow up the balloon to get the details. Too fun!

As family friends of the groom, Mike, I was thrilled that Pam and Mike hired me to design their wedding invitations (complete with mad lib RSVP), thank you notes, escort cards (multi-colored and staggered in moss), program fans, favor tags for the rock candy (You Rock!), and “Thank You” prop signs (reverse said “I’m with Him”, and “I’m with Her.”.)

The wedding was held at the beautiful Inn at Wild Rose Hall in Austin, with the ceremony outside nestled amongst the oak trees. To complement the rustic yet elegant scenery, mason jars filled with flowers hung from branches and Pam’s bridal bouquet included succulents. And no guest could keep their eyes off of the bride’s custom designed dress and blue heels and vintage-looking feather headpiece. Swoon!

The guestbook was a painted tree with Pam and Mike’s initials included. Guests placed their thumbprint on the tree and signed their name. Such a fun and interactive idea, and a true keepsake for the bride and groom!

For the reception dinner, each table was served an amazing family-style dinner. And if you were expecting a traditional bridal cake…you were at the wrong wedding. A dessert station filled with s’mores (for guests to make over an open flame), bread pudding and blackberry cobbler and ice cream awaited everyone. This was my kind of wedding!

Finally, there was a photo booth for all to enjoy. This portion was so interactive and everyone took part in the silliness. I love the photos that came out of this. Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed the wedding. How nice is it to be a part of the wedding as the graphic designer AND as a guest? I don’t ever get to do that!
