Thermography Printed Invitation

I love elevating a traditional wedding invitation set with a fun pattern. There's nothing like opening an envelope and finding a beautiful lining. And when you flip the invitation to the back, the pattern appears again. Thermography (raised) printed in dark red and black inks, the response card, website card and wedding invitation with rounded corners (affixed to two backings) really stand out.

Chevron black and white invitations

Black and white invitations don't have to be boring! I love these chevron lined envelopes with the oversized 6.25" x 9.25" invitation backed by two cardstocks. The invitations are elegant but modern with the pop of trendy pattern. And the custom belly band holds the response card/envelope and website card neatly in the back. Guests will appreciate the pieces being tucked in when they open the invitation.

Inspired by The Driskill

Catherine is getting married at the beautiful historic Driskill Hotel in Austin, Texas. The invitations are inspired by the ceiling and floor at the hotel (see image below). I created their monogram using that same shape and created a pattern on the back of the invitation using that same inspiration. The invitation was thermography printed on 130lb natural cardstock and the back was printed in a metallic ink. To add a splash of color to the set, we included orchid colored envelopes with gold lining and matching gold metallic response envelopes. I love how we incorporated the traditional with some modern additions!

Hollywood Glamour

My client, Kendall, was on American Idol so naturally we created concert tickets for her save the dates. You can read more about these and see photos at http://www.theinvitingpear.blogspot.com/2011/09/concert-ticket-save-date.html.

For her invitations, she wanted a vintage Hollywood glamour feel with aspects of art deco (since the wedding will be held at the historic Driskill Hotel in Austin). To incorporate both styles, I designed decorative scrolls in gold with the wording in an art deco font in silver. Their names were highlighted in an elegant and sophisticated script font. To make the gold and silvers really shine, we had the invitation, reception card and response card thermography printing. This raised printing style created a cool look with the scroll design.

To finish off the set, we backed the invitation with a gold metallic cardstock and a blush pink metallic cardstock. This added weight to the invitation and really made the 6" x 9" size "pop". I can't wait to work on the reception stationery!

Navy and Orange...what a combination!
