Fun with typography...wedding invitations!
Alex and I never met before I designed her wedding save the date postcards (since she lives in Michigan). But through email discussions, she was clear as to what she wanted her save the date design to be. She wanted purple and green colors incorporated with some sort of peacock imagery included. And she loved fonts...nothing feminine or scripty!
For the invitations, Alex and Matt were in town so we were able to meet face to face. As they looked through my past custom invitation designs, they fell in love with square pocketfolds. Everything fit nicely into one small package, which was important since most of their guests would be from out of town (guests could simply grab the pocketfold and not worry about losing anything on the way).
To incorporate the abstract peacock images, I designed a belly band to be wrapped around the outside of the pocket. Inside the pocketfold, the invitation was affixed on top of the belly band and the accommodation cards and response postcards were staggered in the diagonal pocket. Voila! A fun invitation set that wasn't stuffy (or too scripty!).
